Briar, an unpopular girl who happens to love the most popular guy in school is faced with some trouble. She loves Adam but hes dating snobby Heather, she cant have him but in the mids of fawning over Adam she doesn't notice Cayden. A cute shy boy who would die to have her notice him. Will she? Will Adam fall for her?
I sit next to him in English. I sit next to the most athletic, cute, and charming boy in my grade, Adam. He and i have never talked but i think if he got to know me he would like me a lot more. He has a girlfriend, Heather. She is the worst person ever and treats him like crap. He always has to get her lunch while she sits at the popular table filing her stubby nails. I'm sitting with my friends Rebecca, and Sam. They always tell me i dream to big, like i want to be a doctor, mostly because my parents say that if i don't they will hate me forever, yet i know nothing about it. I also have a crush on the star quarter back, they tell me it will never happen, but you have dreams for a reason...
Why dose that girl keep staring at me? She looks at me a lot and its kind of creepy.. I've never talked to her. I think her name is Blair, ya I'm pretty sure it is. Shes a total loser but i guess i could be nice. I see her rummaging around for a pen.
"Pen, where are you?"
"Here you can just borrow mine"
"Um, uh uh"
"Your welcome?"
"Uh"
Oh my gosh, Adam just gave me his pen! OMG I'm touching his pen! I had a little spaz dance in my chair and i knocked over my binder. I went to pick it up.
"Crap"
"Here let me get that for you"
"Oh.. thanks"
That was awkward.. Cayden Harris used to go to my day care when i was 5. i had a have crush on him and i would always glue his hair to his neck then i would have to sit in the knotty chair. Then when we got to middle school our classes switched and we never talked.
Briar.. oh i can think of her all day, shes so cute! I've had a crush on her since grade 4. I'm very good at hiding my feelings.. i think its been four years to long and I'm ready to start making my moves, like start flirting, hanging out more and stuff like that. I can tell, along with everyone else that she likes Adam, but its better to try and fail than to wonder.. right?
"Can i have my pen back?"
"uh"
"Thanks" 
Shes really cute.. not my type for sure, to shy. Well a popular kid can never have to many friends right?
"Here's my number, text me";)
"uh, mm hum"
OMG! Adam just gave me his number. What are we gonna talk about? What if he doesn't like me?
I need some friend assistance! I text Rebecca and Sam " GIRL TALK NOW! BEHIND THE PORTABLES!" 
"Okay whats wrong?"
"Nothings wrong"
"Really? You made us run down here thinking you were dying for this"
"No for this" holding out the note.
"OMG!"
"OMG is right! I guess you might have a chance after all"
" I need help what do i talk about?"
" I recommend starting off simple, then tell him how you feel. That's how i found my true love Grey."
" Gag! I say find things you two have in common.. like the same interests.."
" Ill try..."
Then i got a text from an unknown number stating " Hey i was wondering if you would like to hang out at the new Moovie Smoothie place down town, get to know each other better."
" Girls look at this"
" That's so Adam!"
" Go!"
I text back "Sure ill meet you there"
I walk into the Moovie Smoothie and i don't see Adam anywhere, the only person i know there is Cayden smiling at me. 
"Cayden.."
"Ya"
"Do you know where Adam is? Did you see him anywhere?"
"No, why?"
"Cause he invited me on a smoothie date"
"No he didn't"
"What do you mean?"
"It was me.."
"Oh sorry, so why did you wanna hang out?"
"Cause we haven't talked in 3 or 4 years"
"I guess"
"Here take a seat, let me buy you something, what would you like?"
"Strawberry please"
"Coming right up"
I grab out my phone "Girls its NOT ADAM! its Cayden!
"Oh my gosh really? Hes so cute."
"I guess.."
" Dose he like you?"
"I don't think so, he said that we just haven't talked for a while and he wanted to know me better, oh hes coming back i have to go now, text you after"
"One strawberry for you"
"Thanks, so what did you wanna talk about?"
"You, so whats new?"
"Nothing really..."
"Wow that's cool"
"I know"
"Ha ha"
"I like spending time with you, i forgot how fun it was"
"Ya, so why did you think Adam was here? Are you dating him?"
"Oh i wish, but we did have our first conversation today and he gave me his number"
"Oh that's cool.. so you like him?"
"Ya"
"That's cool"
"So, who do you like?"
"No one.."
"Boring."
"Wow thanks"
"Your welcome, well i have to go home now and study for the math test"
"I can help you"
"No its okay"
"Fine, but at least let me walk you home"
"Fine"
Its nice to spend time with Cayden. I forgot how fun it was and how nice he is. Now that I'm his friend again i feel much happier, hes so nice.
This is awesome! i love being with her! it makes me feel so special and good inside, and now from hanging out with her today and seeing she the same old, beautiful Briar i used to know, i know that i love her.
"Here's my house"
"I knew that"

"Thanks for walking me home, and I'm really happy that we could spend some time together to become closer friends"
"Ya... friends"

Become closer friends.. is that all she thinks of me? friends? i need to change that.
I slam the door. 
"Briar, where were you?"
"I was hanging out with Cayden"
"Wow, little Cayden.. oh he was so cute!"
"Um mom.."
"Sorry Hun"
I grab my phone and text Rebecca, Sam, and Adam
"What happened?"
"Did he confess that he loved you?"
"No, were just friends and i know we both want it to stay that way."
Then Adam texted me back, what i have waited for my whole life.
"Hey"
"Hi"
"Sup"
"Nothing really i just got back from hanging out with Cayden"
"Kool"
"So what are you doing?"
"Gtg"
"Bye.."
That is what Ive waited for my whole life? That was horrible! We didn't even talk, i thought me and him would become friends like me and Cayden and then we would fall in love.. but at this rate ill be dead by then.. 
"Hey Briar.. its Cayden.. i was wondering if you wanted to come with me to Miles party? i need a date and your the only person i could think of.."
"Sure"
"Ill pick you up around 8"
"Okay ill see you then"
Oh a party that will be fun.. i heard all the football players go to those parties.. Adam will be there and we can talk and get closer to become Briam.. that's my couple name i made up, cute right?
Yes! shes my date to the party! maybe shes on the same page as me..maybe she likes me too! we'll see :)
I grab out my phone and text the girls "hey girls I'm going to Miles party, you guy wanna come?"
"Duh! Miles is so superlisiously cute!"
"Sure can i bring Grey?"
"Sure, and Adam will be there and I'm gonna make my move!"
"YAY!!"
"We will meet you there"

Two hours later i hear a knock on the door and i run down stairs in my dark washed skinny jeans with the lace belt and lace top and my hair thrown up into a pony tail as usual. I open the door.
"Wow, you look, Amazing!"
"Um thanks you look nice too"
That was nice of him to say that, then we walk across the street to the car and get in.
"Why hello Briar, i haven't seen you in a long time, you look so nice."
"Thanks Mrs. Harris"
"Call me Debby"
"Come on mom lets go"
Twenty minuets later we arrive at Miles house and the parties in full swing.
"Thanks Debby"
"No problem, have fun!"
Then we walk in and i see everyone from our school is there.
"Oh there's Rebecca and Sam, see you later Cayden"
"Uh bye"
"Dude! shut down!"
"Shut up Miles you don't have a girlfriend!"
"After i make my move on Sam i will and Briar doesn't know you like her.. and she seems interested"
"Really? you think so?"
"No, she totally loves Adam, but dude they arnt friends and if you get in there first you could change that!"
"Fine"
I need to tell her how i feel!


"Hi girls"
"Hey, so r u gonna actually talk to Adam tonight?"
"Ya"
"Well hes over there and hes alone so id go now.."
"Okay wish me luck"
"Luck"
I walk up to Adam while hes pouring some punch for him and Heather. 
"Um, Hi Adam"
"Wow so that's what you sound like"
"Ha, ya so i was wondering if you wanted to dance"
"I have to go, bye"
"Um okay"
I walk back to my friends
"That was a fail"
"Don't worry you tried your best."
"Thanks"
"Here comes Miles and Cayden"
"Hey Sam wanna dance?"
"Totally!"
" Briar"
"Ya"
"Do you wanna dance?"
"Sure"
Then i walk out onto the dance floor and a slow song comes on and we start dancing.
"What are you looking for?"
"Huh? Oh I'm looking for Adam"
"Oh"
"Look! Hes not dancing with anyone! I have to go"
"Wait"
"What?"
"Can we talk?"
"But the song will be over soon"
"Please"
"Fine"
"Follow me"
I follow him upstairs to the end of the hall way.
"So what did you want to talk about?"
"Briar"

"Ya?"
"I love you, i really do and that's why i asked you out on the smoothie date and to come with me here, its cause i love you. I have for four years and i cant begin to imagine my life without you!"
"I don't know what to say"
"Fine"
Cayden storms past me as i stand in the silent hallway. I never thought he felt that way..
I push past her and down the stairs and go strait home. I slam the door.
"Honey, why are you home so soon?"
"I told her how i felt"
"And what did she say?"
"Nothing"
"Oh honey its okay, you will find someone who really loves you"
"But i only want her"
"Well she did say nothing.. she might still have feelings for you"
"Dont think so.."
I run up to my room and slam the door. There is no way she loves me! I can just tell! I sit on my bed and cry, while tearing up my pictures of her.


"Hey babe, here's your punch"
"Wow that took you long enough! and don't call me that anymore!"
"What?"
"I saw you talking to that loser Briar, and i will not date a loser!"
"What dose that mean?"
"It means were through!"
Wow i don't have a girlfriend.. i cant be a foot ball star without a girlfriend! Well that Blair girl likes me so i guess ill just go out with her.
"Hi, you two are friends with Blair right?"
"Do you mean Briar?"
"Ya"
"Why?"
"I need to talk to her"
I'm sitting in the corner, with my eyes welling up with tears.. what should i do? Cayden loves me and hes so sweet! but i also like Adam but i don't think he would ever like me. I think i do love Cayden. I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket and I'm hoping its Cayden, then i see its a call from Sam.
"Hello?"
"Are you crying?"
"No"
"Okay well I'm here with Rebecca and Adam"
"Adam?"
"Yes. Adam and he says he need to talk to you, where are you?"
"Up stairs in the hall way"
"Okay hes on his way"
A minuet later i see Adam come around the corner and smile at me.
"Hey Blair"
"My names Briar"
"Oh ya, you know you look beautiful in this lighting"
"What?"
"Your eyes are such a gorgeous color of blue" getting closer and closer.
"Huh?"
"Kiss me"
I kiss him. I kissed Adam. It wasn't as good as i thought it would be.. i pulled away. He smiled at me and went back in. I pushed him away.
"Whats wrong? I thought you liked me"
"I did"
"So why wont you kiss me?" going for another kiss.
"Because i don't"
"What?"
"I like someone else... and they need to know"
I push him out of my way and run out of Miles house and strait to Cayden's house. 
"Hi Debby, is Cayden there?"
"He doesn't want to talk right now"
"Okay, just tell him i need to talk to him"
"Sure will" and closes the door
"Cayden"
"What?"
"Briar is outside she wants to talk to you"
"Well i don't want to talk to her"
"Fine but i would tell her that cause it looks shes gonna stay for a while"
"Huh?"
I look outside my window as she takes a seat on my front lawn, i close the window and sit down on my bed. Why is she here? 
I go and sit on his lawn for and hour hoping he would come out, he didn't .. i couldn't wait any longer! I climbed onto his balcony and knocked on his window. Then i saw his curtains open and he peeked his head out to see.
Oh my gosh! how did she get on my balcony! she must really want to talk! I open the door as i wipe the tears from my eyes.
"What are you doing?"
"I needed to talk to you"
"About what? How you want to be friends?"
"No"
"Than what?"
"When you left it got me thinking.. how do i really feel about you? and i realised that i didn't like Adam. Me and him kissed, and after all the time of me liking him. It was horrible! it was pure torture! because i didn't like him. I liked you..."
"What?"
"Ya"
"You kissed him?"
"Oh my gosh"
" I'm just kidding! I'm really happy to hear that."
"Ya."
"Briar?"
"Ya?"
"Would you be my girlfriend?"
"Yes!"
I cant believe that this is how the night turned out! and i do like it better with him! hes just so much more.. human! and caring and kind and the kind of person i would love to spend the rest of my life with.
I am so excited! To know she loves me is the best thing anyone could ever give to me! and i would never change anything! Well maybe the kissing part.. id rather my girlfriend not be kissing jerks like that! Me and her smile and look at each other.
Me and him kissed. and let me say it was way better than kissing Adam!

Rebecca and Grey have been friends since they can remember. Always told each other everything and wernt scared to tell either. But now there at that awkward stage between friendship and love. Which one will they choose? Which one is more important? Who cares enough to make it happen?
As me and Grey are walking home from school hes acting a little different.
"Are you okay? Your not even talking to me"
"No I'm fine"
"Are you sure?"
"Ya"
I could tell he wasn't but he didn't seem in the mood to talk. I have known him since we were in diapers and he rarely acted like this.. it was only when he was nervous or.. 
"Oh my gosh, who is it?"
"Who is what?
"The girl.."
"There's no girl"
"Yes there is"
"No.. i have to go, i have a doctors appointment"
"Okay do you mind me stopping by later?"
"Sure" 
I walked inside and through my winter stuff down.
"Hey Grey. Did you tell her yet?"
"No Mom, and stop, you ask me this everyday and it will never be a yes!"
"Fine, fine but all these feelings will just crowd up inside of you."
"Mom.."
"Sorry"
I walked up the stair case to my room at the end of the hall, the room me and Rebecca used to play in everyday. Now we hang out in here once a month. Its just got so weird to be with her since i started to like her. Its gross and weird but i just cant shake the feeling. My palms get all sweaty and all i think about is her when my head is down at the ground. I'm not sure if i should tell her, it just seems like she wont take a clue and she seems to like me the same way when i was little. But she has a crush, his name, his horrible name is Laden, me and him used to be friends when we were little until he stole my juice box in grade one, but hes gotten much uglier since then. I only have one friend Rebecca, but i don't just want to be her friend i want to be her man, her hubby not just friends who walk down the street, the ones who hold hands. I would never know what its like to do that because I've never had a girlfriend, there are lots of pretty girls and girls who liked me but i just never liked them like that, never the way i like Rebecca. I look through the scrapbook i made of her when suddenly i here my door open and i quickly close the book and hide it under my leg preparing to see my mom standing in the door way. 
"Hi Grey, whacha doin?"
"Oh Rebecca Hi, i wasn't expecting you to come so soon"
"Is this not the right time should i go?"
"No no stay"
"Oh, whats that?"
"Whats what?"
"That book"
"What book"
"Fine, so what do you wanna do?"
"Wanna go play Call Of Duty?"
"How about Mall World"
"Fine"
I always thought it was so sweet when he would do stuff for me i don't really know why though.. i was really wondering what that book was that he left on his bed.
"I'm gonna go use the washroom is that okay"
"Sure""
"Try to get me that pink bag while I'm gone"

I ran up the stairs strait to his room, i saw the turned over book on his bed i grabbed it in my hands and turned it over, it said "Rebecca" on the front cover in his messy writing, it was filled with sappy poems about me and pictures of me and him and hearts. Oh my gosh, i was the girl, i was the girl he liked. I cant believe i didn't see this coming. I need to tell him i love him too. i only told him i liked Laden because i didn't think he liked me, but now i know. Then i suddenly heard footsteps down the hall and i took the book and hid it under the covers.
"Your just like him"
"Like who"
"Grey, the way you hid the book when i was coming. He looks at that all the time. He really likes you."
"I know, i feel the same way too."I rushed past his mom and down the stairs. Then sat down next to him.
"Look i got you the purse you wanted"
"Thanks"
"Do you want anything else?"
"You.."
"What?"
"I like you"
"You do?"
"Yes i really like you"
"But i thought you liked Laden"
"Nope"
"Oh"
"Do you like me?"
"Yes!"
"Really"
"Ya for a long, long time"
"So dose this mean?"
"Guess so"
Then i leaned in to kiss him. i felt sparks, not really but it felt special and different from every guy I've kissed this one was special, it was the best kiss ever.
If someone told me that i would be kissing Rebecca today i would have told them they were a lier, but i did i really did and now were dating. It is much better than i thought it would be, shes ten times better a girlfriend than a friend and i didn't think that was possible! This is the best day ever.
At the end of the night i gave him a hug and kiss goodnight
"Goodnight Boyfriend"
"Goodnight Girlfriend"
The door slammed behind me followed by a huge yell
" Yes! Shes finally mine! Shes finally mine!"
I smiled and walked down to my house.
